A leap of faith
The sun blushed crimson, with little clouds playing around the blue canvas. The endless horizon seemed welcoming with boundless allure. The dolphins appeared to be tiny dots dancing around jovially as I lost track of time. A sense of uneasiness coursed through my veins as my eyes remained fixed on the relentless ocean tides. It was high. High enough to dispel the fear I had nurtured all along.
A tremendous leap shakes the earth followed by the next two seconds that pass by in the wind around me as I dive down cutting the air stream. The momentum elevates fearful ecstasy as gravity keeps pulling me down. A gust of wind violently shuts my eyes down, as darkness surrounds me with a momentary realization — my mind’s void. I feel nothing, but a cool ripple touch, the point in time I cross paths with two elements of mother nature, one building me up and the other pinning me down. A serendipity that reality in fact is dual in nature. My heartbeat hits its crescendo with a shiver down my legs, a sudden jolt of pain gripping my abdomen. My eyes snap open as I find myself rising, the buoyant water slowing my descent.
The world brightens, and I finally have a clear view of the sky above. My gaze gets caught up to the cliff above me, and I find my younger self, in tears. He stays still, speechless while I maintain serene patience, allowing my illusion to settle. And then I hear him whispering, “It’s all a leap of faith”.
